St Ives Boats operate their boat Isla-Bea in St Ives. She is the fast, fun, yellow boat, taking trips to Seal Island, Godrevy Lighthouse and Hell’s Mouth from the harbour.

We operate three types of tours:

  • Seal Island
This narrated cruise lasts 1h15 and leaves St Ives Harbour passing the New Pier, Porthgwidden and around the Island to Porthmeor. The site of the wreck of the Alba (1938) will be pointed out. Then past Clodgy, The Hor & Penninnis, all stunning granite headlands jutting north into the Atlantic. You will be shown the site of the wreck of The Bessemer City (1936) at Brea Cove, and finally around Penzoarzen to the Western Carracks reef to view Grey Atlantic Seals. From here we can see the western approaches as far as Pendeen Light, with a superb view of Gurnards Head and Zennor Point.

  • The Lighthouse
Our cruise to the lighthouse lasts 1h15.  We leave St Ives harbour and plough our way across the stunning St Ives Bay heading East to this beautiful listed building. En route, you will pass Hayle Bar, the Towans and Red River. You will be told about the treacherous Stones reef, the wreck of The Nile (1854) and of the construction and operation of the lighthouse. Godrevy Island is also home to a colony of Atlantic grey seals, and many seabirds.

  •  Private Charter
Why not charted our vessel for your own private cruise. We are licensed for 12 passengers and you can choose your own departure time, route and bring your own drinks. Our sunset cruise is a must!

Safety

Isla-Bea is licensed by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency to carry 12 persons and 2 crew members. She is equipped with statutory safety equipment including lifejackets & life-raft.

Comfort

Isla-Bea is a commercial passenger vessel and the largest vessel in St Ives. A large open deck, lots of bench seating, and a sound-proofed engine ensure your cruise will be peaceful and comfortable.
