Sunset Starlings By Tony Hamblin (Marazion)
  • Overview
  • More Info

Join the warden to watch the pre-roost starling gatherings at Marazion Marsh. Witness one of nature’s amazing spectacles as the flock conduct their aerial ‘mumurations’ before plummeting into the reedbed to roost for the night. At the start of the winter it is now commonplace to see large flocks of Starlings amassing at Marazion Marsh. Although numerous in number they are nowhere near as common as they once were – estimates of up to four million birds here in the 1980’s. Take a leisurely stroll and learn to spot and identify other resident and migrant birds living on the beach and Marazion Marsh.
