Pathways to the Past 2018 – 12th year
A weekend of walks & talks amongst the ancient sites of West Penwith

Saturday May 26th
10.00-12.30pm – Just a hammer throw away
A guided walk with John & Jill Moss around Trencrom Hill visiting prehistoric sites on and near the hill.  Walk – generally easy with a steep uphill section.  Meet at Trencrom Hill car park on south side of hill [SW518 360] (limited parking)

2.00-5.00pm – The First and Last hills 
A guided walk with archaeologist David Giddings around sites at Chapel Carn Brea and Bartinney hills, visiting ancient sites, including barrows.  Walk – generally easy with a steep uphill section. Meet at Chapel Carn Brea car park [SW389 283]

7.30-9.00pm – Viewed in a new light: Hendraburnick Quoit & rock art in the SW 
An illustrated talk on a fascinating and enigmatic prehistoric phenomenon, by archaeologist Andy Jones.   Old Town Hall, St.Just TR19 7HT

Sunday May 27th 
11.00-12.30pm – Cornwall’s celestial stones: reflections of the sky in an ancient landscape  
An illustrated talk with new research by archaeo-astronomer  Carolyn Kennett. Old Town Hall, St.Just TR19 7HT

2.00-5.00pm – Phantoms, Lovers, a Witch and a Saint  
A guided walk with storytelling by Adrian Rodda along the southern coastal path.
Walk –moderate, with some rough paths. No dogs please due to nature of terrain.
Meet at St.Levan church car park  [SW380 222] – parking charge

8.00-9.00pm – A miner’s tale           Details to be confirmed

Event Price

Each individual event £5 but free to members of CASPN. You can join CASPN at the beginning of the individual event or in advance by telephone or on the website.
