Following their date with us in St Ives, the SWPC will be heading off to perform at one of the worlds most prestigious concert halls – Carnegie Hall in New York.  This fabulous Orchestra and Choir is made up of people from all walks of life who unite in their passion for making and performing great music with a capital M.
With over 150 musicians and singers from across the South West, they  are the regions largest Orchestra and Community Choir and continue to grow and flourish.  They have an impressive repertoire under their belt  and deliver spell-binding performances across the region.  Their concerts are not to be missed!

Founder and Musical Director of the SWPCMarcus Alleyne started his musical career at the age of 11 with piano tuition and a role as an active chorister. At 15 he took part in his first opera taking the lead role of Tamino, in Mozart’s Magic Flute – one of the youngest tenors in Europe to do so.  During this time, he continued classical voice training.
Whilst studying, Marcus received the Young Musician of The Year Award and in the same year the Tim Timmis “Services to Music” award. Following a successful military career, he later studied music at Plymouth University and worked closely with the Artistic Director of Peninsular Arts, Simon Ible.  He has been fortunate to work with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Composer Nigel Shaw, Percussionist Evelyn Glennie and Guitarist Craig Ogden.
