An event every week that begins at 12:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, repeating until 24th November 2023
The festival name comes from the Cornish tradition of singing sessions in Pubs.
St Ives Shanty Shout started in 2016 with a small handful of groups singing in The Castle Inn. This proved to be very popular and many groups showed interest in coming to the next one so we had to do it again in 2017 and make it bigger.
Hosted by Bamaluz Bootleggers, the St Ives Shanty Group with sponsorship from local businesses the 2017 shout has over 20 groups, including Kimbers Men travelling down from Yorkshire, singing at multiple venues in the town.
Entry to all the venues is free so show your support by drinking their beer while you listen to Shanty groups with a diverse range of sizes and styles. Whether you like your singers in Civvies, dressed as Sailors or even Pirates there should be something special for you.
