Petrit Halilaj : Tate St Ives

May 29 - October 10

Petrit Halilaj Ru Menura Fig1

Merging the real and imagined, political and folkloric, Halilaj (b 1986 in Kostërrc) works in a variety of media including sculpture, drawing and text, as well as traditional fabrics and materials. His work examines cultural identity and heritage, the relationship between found artefacts, and personal and collective memories. He often uses animals as metaphors for transformation; recent works include giant moth sculptures and installations comprising a multitude of ‘creatures’ made with excavated found objects.

Halilaj lives and works between Bozzolo (Italy), Berlin (Germany) and Pristina (Kosovo).

  • Entry to the exhibition is included in the price of gallery admission.
  • Entry to both the exhibition and the gallery is free for Tate Members, Locals’ Pass holders and under 18s.
