The Apartment is centrally located in St Ives with its unique natural attractions and its wealth of high-class shops, restaurants and galleries including the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth and Sculpture Museum and The Leach Pottery. St Ives is world famous for its picturesque fishing harbour, surfing, sandy beaches and history as an art colony where famous artists such as Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicolson, Naum Gabo and Bernard Leach resided with much of their work now displayed in The Tate St Ives.
In recent years many well-known national and international stores have opened branches in the town such as Oska Trade Limited, Wetherspoons, Pizza Express, Fatface, Sea Salt, Mountain Warehouse, Pasty Presto, Musto, Superdry, etc which makes St Ives an excellent centre for shopping and dining.
St Ives cinema is within 100 metres of The Apartment and St Ives Leisure Centre with indoor swimming pool, available to the public, is not far from the centre of the town.
Directions:- (by train) St Ives Train Station is about ¼ mile from The Apartment and is downhill. When you leave the Station follow the road up to the Bus Station called the Malakov. Follow the main road down to the first crossroads at the Library & Nat West Bank and turn left into Gabriel Street. On the right hand side, on the corner of Royal Square, is Hair Naturale Salon. The Apartment is above and the entrance is approached from the side, facing Royal Square.
Directions:- (by car) from the A 30 follow the signs to St. Ives and drive down into the town centre. As you come into the shopping area, turn first left at the crossroads by the Library and National Westminster Bank and you come into Gabriel Street. On the right hand side, on the corner of Royal Square, is Hair Naturale Salon. The Apartment is above and the entrance is approached from the side, facing Royal Square.
The Apartment is conveniently located in St Ives to benefit within level walking distance of the harbour and the many beaches of St Ives. Guests can forget their car and take surf boards and beach gear directly to the beach and even return for lunch at The Apartment. Similarly, there are many restaurants and pubs in the immediate vicinity of The Apartment if guests wish to dine out in the evening or even take an early or late morning breakfast locally.
The steps leading up to The Apartment are similar to the average interior household flight of stairs. Once at The Apartment entrance there are no further stairs or steps to negotiate.
The harbour is approximately 1/3 of a mile away and the beaches nearer to 1/2 mile.
The Apartment is on level walking distance to the beaches, harbour, shops, restaurants and the nearest car park for those more elderly or preferring convenience and is less than 1/4 mile from St Ives Train and Bus Station. Car parks are accessible within about 250 yards and allow weekly parking tickets.
The vendor offers to meet and collect guests arriving by train and offers to assist in obtaining a Weekly Rover Parking Ticket for guests arriving by car.
The St Ives railway line is designated as one of the most scenic railways in Great Britain as it traverses along the coastline to join with the main line at St Erth. From St Erth you can access trains to Penzance westwards and eastwards to Truro and eventually London or Manchester.
St Ives has frequent bus services to other local venues and an open-air bus in the summer months that tours the coastline to Land’s End and Minack Theatre. There also many coach trips from St Ives that will do day trips to the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Michael’s Mount, Flambards, and to special events such as Trevithick Day and Air Day at RNAS Culdrose.
Locally, there is a mini bus service immediately outside The Apartment that transports visitors to the Leisure Centre and the very large Trenwith car park.
